Professional Education Diplomas
Diploma in Fundamentals of Gemological Engineering (DFGE)
DFGE offers a rare, bird’s-eye view of gemology from an engineering and materials-science perspective, one that traditional gemological institutions simply do not provide. Rather than focusing only on identification and grading, DFGE immerses participants in the science and practical world of crystal growth, gemstone enhancements, defect chemistry, color centers, thermodynamics, and phase transformations. The course is a hands-on experience in heat treatments and crystal growth as well as laboratory identification, bridging gemology, materials engineering, geology, mining, and applied physics. The course is designed to make participants think like gem engineers, and not just gemologists.
Duration : 7 full day classes in 2 weeks.
Tuition fee : $ 5,600 USD
Diploma in Heat Treatments of Ruby & Sapphire (DHRS)
The course guides participants through the fundamentals of corundum chemistry and defect physics, followed by a deep, practical exploration of controlled heat-treatment processes for ruby and sapphire. Emphasis is placed on precise atmosphere control, temperature profiling, and transformation mechanisms, alongside state-of-the-art treatment techniques used in the industry and fundamentals on how to push the boundaries. By combining rigorous scientific understanding with real hands-on furnace operations and post-treatment evaluation, DHRS diploma course enables participants to achieve consistent, high-quality results and truly understand why and how perfect heat treatments are achieved.
Duration : 10 full day classes in 2 weeks.
Tuition fee : $ 15,300 USD
Diploma in Diamond Materials Science (DDMS)
This hard-core course takes participants from the fundamentals of diamond crystal chemistry and physics to real-world growth techniques such as CVD, followed by post-processing methods including cutting, polishing, defect engineering, and characterization. Through a deep dive into the science behind growth mechanisms, defects, color centers, and structure–property relationships, DDMS bridges theory with practice, allowing participants to witness, analyze, and understand how diamonds are grown, modified, and optimized for both gemological and high-tech applications.
Duration : 15 full day classes in 3 weeks.
Tuition fee : $ 23,700 USD
